blog post - mph journey - week in review

πŸ—“ week in review – spring 2025, week 2

what did I do this week?

  • Set up my second program advisor meeting
  • Wrapped up 2 classes and completed all assignments just in time
  • Finished module 2 readings, videos, and lectures
  • Secured a public health leader interview for a qualitative methods assignment
  • Set aside some time for leisure reading & a 4-mile walk

what worked?

Starting early was helpful, I even finished all the assignments for one of my classes one day early – also setting time aside with family and doing non-school things like personal readings were a nice break

what didn’t work?

Wrapping assignments up for one of my two classes by Sunday – they got in just in time, but I prefer not to push it too close to the deadline

what can I do to improve or will try to improve?

I still think daily check-ins are critical, but I’m also going to make sure I stick to my time management plan and minimize distractions

what did I listen to, to get through the week?

what interesting article or quote did I come across?

Frieden, T. R. (2010). A Framework for Public Health Action: The Health Impact Pyramid. American Journal of Public Health (1971), 100(4), 590–595. https://doi.org/10.2105/AJPH.2009.185652

An important framework that helps to outline five tiers critical for making improvements in societal health. It has some interesting considerations that I may blog about later – Stay tuned!

To your salud & success,
